Welcome to the Bag Lands

I spent the second week of March in San Antonio, Texas, of all places. Why, you ask? Because this year San Antonio was the site of the Men and Women's Division II Swimming and Diving National Championship Meet! (How's that for a mouthful!) The team did an awesome job and we had a lot of fun together. We ate out, walked the river walk, went shopping, saw the Alamo, and also did a TON of swimming! Here are some pictures I took during the week.

I know this picture isn't the best quality, but I just had to put it up because it's Kobe!! The Lakers were staying at the same hotel as us and we got to be paparazzi as they left for a game the first day we were there.

A view of the river walk from a bridge near our hotel.

A view of the pool from both ends. We spent a lot of time here!

I just love the angles in this pic

Playing in the fountains!!

I LOVED this staircase!

Fun with the girls!

The best cheesecake I have ever eaten in the Hard Rock Cafe.

Awesome detail on this building.

This is Josh Davis, a previous world record holder and three-time olympic gold medalist. Yes, that is one of his gold medals around my neck! Talk about cool!

And to wrap up this post, some of the guys goofing off...

Oh, and it might be necessary to explain the title of this post... The team was joking as we drove to the pool one day that a certain area looked really trashy, and we started calling it the "bad lands." Then we drove past a field that was full of plastic bags in the weeds, tree branches, and fencing. We decided a more appropriate name was actually the "bag lands" and said so every time we passed that field, which was four times every day!
